Aerial Stacks
Hong Kong – condensed, crammed, brimming – has made assemblage and stacking into an art form.
The city piles up a seemingly infinite number of inhabitants and their attendant belongings. Objects of every scale are amassed, be they big or small containers stacked one atop another or regiments of high-rise apartment blocks soaring towards the sky.
This improbable alchemy is studded with rich colours and pulsing repetition that, framed by the camera lens, tells a story that moves away from the everyday.
